Had to take some time off last nite. My 83 year

Had to take some time off last nite. My 83 year old mother in law called me and said there had been a small fire at her house and could I please come over. She had an old lamp that she used and the switch no longer worked. The only way to turn it on or off was to screw in the lite bulb. It had been on for some time and she got a cloth to unscrew it, put it on the lite bulb, and then the phone rang and she left the room to answer the phone.Next thing she heard was the smoke detector going off. Well, it was mostly smoke, but a little smoke goes a long ways. And I helped her to ventilate the house for awhile. She's okay and in the process of selling her house to move in to an independent care facility. Life is so precious and so short. My aunt who passed on to heaven last week had such a beautiful remembrance of the life she lived. The people she touched. Never an unkind word out of her mouth. The thing I most remember is her smile. In the midst of terrible physical infirmity, her smile. Never once did I ever hear her say anything unkind about another human being. What will people say about us after we've left this world? What we put into our spirit will come out. Listen to a bunch of haters, you will learn to hate. Listen to some awesome Christian teachers, like Joyce Meyer, you will learn to love. Raped by her father over 200 times over years, she became a follower of Jesus and forgave her father, bought a house for him and her mother and loved him the last several years of his life. He received the same Jesus and apologized to Joyce for what he had done. Joyce had the choice to live in bitterness or forgive and love. She chose the way of love. Blessing or cursing, what do you want to be known for? It is each of our choices. My best to all, Jim
