Supply shortages continue due to growing lumber export demand
Demand for North American hardwood supplies has been steadily growing as exporters continue to ship record amounts of lumber to Asia, Mexico, Italy and other nations around the world. Yet as the demand grows – so significantly that January 2013 saw record export numbers totaling 113 million board feet – supplies in the U.S. are beginning to dwindle.
