APPARENTLY crayons are 95% polyethylene... according to the DEC document...
likely DEC requested info from Crayola about the
"ingredients" before approving it as a feedstock.
BTW, is polyethylene plastic????
Thought so! OLD TIMEY crayons were all paraffin wax, but APPARENTLY crayola's modern version are mostly plastic plastic plus a little bit of inert filler clay.
MY GUESS IS that CHEAP OFF-BRAND CRAYONS are still paraffin wax... but JBI is not recycling crayons from Arvitard Crayon Corp... JBI is using crayons & markers in partnership with Crayola Corp of PA.
PLASTIC waste is PLASTIC WASTE... who cares what kind of plastic waste JBI uses?
IT is NOT a drastic change of course for JBI no matter what is posted to the contrary! IMO
