Michael Sanders Named General Manager of Prominent Hotel Near St. Louis Airport

ST. LOUIS, MO--(Marketwired - Apr 15, 2013) - Michael Sanders has been named general manager of the Renaissance St. Louis Airport Hotel. Michael brings 21 years of experience in the hotel industry to the luxurious hotel near University City, MO operated by Davidson Hotels and Resorts.

Mr. Sanders comes to the Renaissance after serving as general manager of the Hilton San Antonio Airport hotel. He has been a part of the Davidson team for eight years, managing Marriott, Westin and Hilton branded properties. His career has also included 13 years with Wyndham Hotels and Resorts.

"I am happy to be joining the AAA Four Diamond Renaissance St. Louis Airport and a stellar team that delivers Renaissance," said Sanders of making the move. The distinctive St. Louis, MO hotel provides an oasis of amenities for business and leisure travelers, pampering guests with budget-friendly hotel specials and discounts; complimentary shuttle service to the adjacent Lambert-St. Louis International Airport (STL), and offers a location that is convenient to the downtown district and many of the area's most popular attractions.

A graduate of the University of Houston's Conrad Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management, Sanders began his career waiting tables in a hotel restaurant. During his post-graduate career, he has held various positions within the industry, serving 10 hotels in nine cities throughout the United States. He has spent the past 10 years working in the capacity of general manager.

Sanders' wealth of experience will prove to be an asset in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Renaissance, which features 374 guest rooms, 19 suites and 28 meeting rooms encompassing 37,000 square feet of event space. The St. Louis hotel also features indoor and outdoor pools, a well-equipped fitness center and is home to Norah's Crafted Food & Spirits, a stylish St. Louis restaurant where local and sustainable ingredients are served up daily in contemporary American dishes.

Recognizing the value of community involvement, Sanders was active in San Antonio, serving as second vice president of the San Antonio Hotel and Lodging Association and as a member of the St. Philip's College Hotel Advisory Committee. He and his wife, Jenny, along with their two daughters, Madisen and Meghan, are anxious to make St. Louis their home and look forward to visiting City Museum, eating custard at Drewes, exploring the Arch, sledding a snow covered hill and supporting the St. Louis Cardinals.
