NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Apr 12, 2013) - This week at NAB 2013, KIT digital, Inc., a leading video management software and services company, demonstrated the breadth of their innovative technology capabilities including 2Si and KIT Cloud.
2Si made it's US debut at 2nd Screen Sunday and was a big hit with media, industry experts and attendees alike. 2Si is a white label social program guide app for the world's multichannel video programming distributors (MVPDs) and drew a lot of attention for its social and advertising capabilities.
"KIT had an overwhelmingly positive response to 2Si. We demonstrated its capabilities to an audience of over 400 industry insiders at the 2nd Screen Sunday summit and wowed an audience that isn't easily impressed," noted Alan Wolk, KIT digital's Global Lead Analyst, who along with the KIT team provided dozens of private demonstrations at KIT's NAB booth. "What people responded to was the common sense approach of an app clearly aimed at network operators and broadcasters and that the app provides a functional advertising model."
KIT's high performance web-based video asset management system (OVP), KIT Cloud generated a lot of interest due to its powerful ability to deliver a TV-like experience over the internet.
"The electronic program guide (EPG) we have integrated to KIT Cloud helps close the gap between traditional OVP and OTT solutions. It gives viewers the ability to see what's coming up 24/7 across all screens at a much lower price point for content aggregators than a fully-fledged OTT solution," said Nick Athanassiadis, Global General Manger, OVP.
KIT Cloud also launched its ability to integrate digital signage into its solutions. Mr. Athanassiadis explained, "After implementing digital signage in EMEA for many years, NAB was the first time we showcased the solution in the US. We had tremendous interest from a number of existing and prospective clients to be able to access four screens through one integrated system, KIT Cloud."
KIT digital also provided valuable insight into the industry with speakers on two Second Screen Sunday panels. Mr. Wolk moderated a panel on second screen advertising models while General Manager of the Americas, Jon McKinney spoke on recommendations and content discovery.
