Stockton Hotels Celebrate 27th Annual Asparagus Festival April 26 to 28

STOCKTON, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 12, 2013) -  The story of the Stockton Asparagus Festival can be told in numbers. In the last 27 years it has helped more than 129 charities receive more than $5.8 million. In 2012 it served nearly 63,000 asparagus dishes -- including 38,500 orders of deep-fried asparagus -- to attendees and volunteers. While the numbers tell the story, they can't compare to the actual experience, from the live entertainment to the delectable dishes.

As a festival-recommended hotel, the Courtyard Stockton, near Pacific Memorial Stadium , offers a convenient location for visitors, whether they're in town specifically for the festival or happen to be in town and want to check it out.

From April 26 th through the 28 th , the area near these UOP campus accommodations will play host to the weekend festival and all the fun that comes with it. Live entertainment includes performances from the Gin Blossoms, Starship and Night Ranger. Little ones will love the Velocity Circus, Sky Dogs & Stunt Dog Productions and the Sea Lion Encounter. The Asparazone will feature kid-friendly rides and entertainment.

Adults can stroll around the small business and home expos, or browse great arts, crafts and wine gifts. Watch the experts in action at chef demonstrations, and see who will win first prize in the deep-friend asparagus-eating contest. At the heart of the festival is the food, and Asparagus Alley is where attendees will find deep-fried asparagus, asparagus tri-tip sandwiches, asparagus burritos, asparagus pasta and this year's new addition the Asparaberry shortcake.

After a day of filling up on asparagus treats, guests of this Lodi hotel can head back to their Stockton, CA suite or cap off the day with a cocktail at The Bistro .

General admission to the Stockton Asparagus Festival is $13. For more information, visit http://asparagusfest.com/
