Acadian Mining Corporation engages in the exploration, acquisition, and development of lead, zinc, gold, and barite properties primarily in the Province of Nova Scotia. The Scotia Mine property also includes five exploration licences in the general vicinity of the Scotia Mine. In total, the 91 claims cover 3,640 acres (1,473 hectares). These licences are located along strike from the Scotia Mine deposit and include favourable host rocks similar to that at the mine site. As of December 31, 2008, approximately 1,300 diamond core drill holes have been drilled on the Scotia Mine property. Scotia Goldfield's Project Beaver Dam: Beaver Dam is the primary focus of the company's gold program as it is potentially a key property in its central processing and servicing strategy. The Beaver Dam property consists of 36 contiguous mineral exploration claims held 100% by the company under exploration licence 05920 and covers approximately 582.5 hectares of surface area in Halifax County, Nova Scotia, approximately 135 kilo meters east of the provincial capital city of Halifax. Forest Hill: The Forest Hill property consists of 173 contiguous mineral claims within 6 mineral exploration licences. The Forest Hill property includes a 100% interest in these claims. The Forest Hill property totals 2803 hectares of land located in Guysborough County, Nova Scotia. Tangier: The Tangier Project consists of 153 mineral claims within 11 mineral exploration licences. The company holds a 100% interest in these claims and acquired the mineral rights as part of its exploration, and evaluation programs to identify new gold targets on the Tangier Project. The Tangier Project totals 2,475 hectares of land located in Halifax County, Nova Scotia. Goldenville The company holds an undivided 100% right title and interest in all exploration licences comprising the Goldenville Project. The Goldenville Project is located in Guysborough County, Nova Scotia, approximately 135 kilometres east of Halifax and 60 kilometres south of Antigonish. Fifteen Mile Stream The Fifteen Mile Stream Property is located in eastern Halifax County in central Nova Scotia. The Fifteen Mile Stream Property consists of 3 mineral licences held by 6179053 Canada Incorporated (6179053). It holds a 50% interest in 6179053. Various additional licences held by the company surround the licences of 6179053 Canada Limited and cover lands considered prospective for additional mineralization. Getty The Getty deposit was the focus primary focus of the company’s zinc-lead exploration in 2008. The Getty deposit is located at Gays River, Halifax County. History The company was founded in 2000. It was formerly known as Tempus Corp. and changed its name to Acadian Gold Corporation in 2003. Further, it changed its name to Acadian Mining Corporation in 2007.
