I'm assuming that maybe we were our own worst enemy in this case: If the site had gone live prior to the PR release (it still is not posted on the "other site"), we would have found it and posted it, and stolen the thunder of the company.

By announcing the site live via PR, albeit early, and having the site go live later (hopefully), the company is in the spotlight and not some anonymous peon poster (much like myself ;-)  )
