NFIB small-business index slumps in June
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — The National Federation of Independent Business’s small-business optimism index dropped 3 points in June to 91.4, to reach the lowest level since October 2011. Labor market indicators and spending plans for capital equipment and inventories weighed on the index, and only one of 10 components, expected credit conditions, improved. The report is based on the responses of 740 randomly sampled small businesses in NFIB’s membership
