These are the 10 strongest recoverers in my own portfolio since last Friday's close, only chip and AI names I hold. After the 6.7% semiconductor crash on October 22, the picture turned in 3 trading days: Anthropic filed for its IPO with $16.3B revenue in the first half of 2026, a $63B financing vehicle was set up to buy AI chips and lease them to Anthropic, WTI fell back below $100 and the 10-year slipped from 5.13% to 4.99%. SK Hynix then posted a record quarter with an 80% operating margin.
Top 10: SK Hynix +16.8%, Credo +16.1%, Astera Labs +12.5%, BE Semiconductor +12.4%, Western Digital +11.0%, Micron +10.2%, Sandisk +10.1%, AMD +10.0%, STMicroelectronics +9.9%, Arm +9.7%.
What they share: they fell hardest in the scare and bounce hardest now. Memory and storage lead on shortage pricing, then AI connectivity and packaging. The picks and shovels, not the mega caps.
Risks: the Fed tonight, Microsoft and Alphabet after the close, Brent near $114. The SOX is still more than 20% below its June record, so this is a recovery, not a new peak.
My view: the scare was about funding, not demand. I am not chasing, but not selling either. SMH and SOXX stay my core.
New leg up or relief rally: how do you see it?
