Advent Awarded "Best Portfolio Management and Accounting Systems" by Markets Media

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 10, 2013) - Advent Software, Inc. ( NASDAQ : ADVS ), a leading provider of software and services for the global investment management industry, today announced that it has been named for 'Best Portfolio Management and Accounting Systems' by Markets Media at the inaugural 2013 Markets Choice Awards. The annual award recognizes excellence in US institutional equity and equity-derivative markets, spanning the buy side and sell side, exchanges and technology.

Advent received the award after an extensive review process that included both quantitative and qualitative analysis. The Markets Media Editorial Team initially reached out to more than 50 senior-level professionals representing all major market sectors and company types. This was followed by an online survey where select industry practitioners were asked to vote for a winner based on certain criteria, which further helped validate the process. Finally, the Advisory Board at Markets Media convened to compare the results from both processes before sending their recommendations to the Editorial Team to determine the final results, selecting Advent as the winner of the inaugural award for "Best Portfolio Management and Accounting Systems."

According to Mohan Virdee, Chief Executive Officer of Markets Media, "The award was based on buy-side traders' feedback citing the ease of use, functionality and seamless integration capabilities of Advent's solutions."

Advent offers purpose-built portfolio management solutions to meet the unique needs of specific segments of the investment management industry, including alternatives and hedge fund managers, asset and wealth managers, advisory firms, and family offices. Advent's portfolio management platforms help investment managers ensure data accuracy and achieve greater operational efficiency, freeing up time and resources so that they can remain focused on the needs of their businesses and clients.

"We're thrilled to be recognized by Markets Media for our portfolio management solution," said Pete Hess, Chief Executive Officer of Advent. "This inaugural award is a testament to the difference we make by delivering innovative solutions that solve our clients' most pressing business needs. Our aim is to create solutions that help eliminate boundaries between systems, information and people in order to help our clients thrive by providing them with the tools to make better-informed decisions."

About Markets Media
Markets Media was launched in December 2007 to provide sophisticated, in-depth content spanning all sectors of the securities industry, delivered across a synergistic platform of print, online and events. In doing so, the company filled a longstanding void in the financial markets publishing and conference space.

Markets Media editorial mission is to cover the complex interrelationships among key decision makers at hedge funds, exchanges, money managers, pension funds, broker-dealers, alternative trading platforms, service providers and regulators in an ever evolving marketplace. In the wake of changes none of us could predict -- unprecedented government intervention in financial markets, the collapse of Wall Street legends, implosions of hedge funds, central banks acting in concert to ease strain on the global markets -- a new era of trading and investing has dawned. Marketplaces have swelled with new entrants, while other players have assumed new roles, either as entrepreneurs or with a growing middle market that has assumed center stage.

Online, in print and at our conferences, Markets Media aims to demystify the strategies and sequence of events that shape investing and trading via direct contact with the people who make the calls that move markets and determine outcomes -- business-critical content that cannot be obtained anywhere else.
