Interesting piece on generalized anxiety disorder in adults 65+, and worth noting that the article was financially supported by Definium Therapeutics while maintaining independent editorial control.
The bigger takeaway for me is the commercial setup around DT120. Older adults with GAD can be difficult to treat, and long-term benzodiazepine use carries well-known concerns around falls, cognitive impairment, dependence and other risks.
Both VOYAGE and PANORAMA enrolled patients up to age 74, so Definium already has some exposure to this population in its Phase 3 program. We still need to see detailed ≥65 subgroup efficacy and safety data, so I wouldn't claim DT120 is proven specifically for geriatric GAD yet.
But if DT120 is ultimately approved and shows durable benefit from infrequent supervised dosing, the value proposition could be especially interesting in older patients who otherwise face years of chronic medication.
To me, this looks less like new approval evidence and more like early disease-state and physician education ahead of a potential DT120 launch. The next thing I'd really like to see is the age-stratified VOYAGE/PANORAMA data.
