NanoViricides, Inc. (NYSE American: NNVC), a clinical-stage developer of antiviral drugs, announced that its phase II clinical trial evaluating NV-387 Oral Gummies as a treatment for Bundibugyo ebolavirus and other Ebola viruses in the Democratic Republic of Congo (“DRC”) has been registered in the Pan African Clinical Trials Registry under identification number PACTR202608748555077. The company previously received local regulatory approval from ACOREP to begin the trial and said NV-387 has been delivered to the clinical trial site in Ituri province, with first patient dosing anticipated within one to two weeks, barring outbreak-related impediments. The adaptive trial will begin with a single-arm safety and dose run-in before progressing to a randomized, controlled, open-label efficacy evaluation. NanoViricides said NV-387 is an orally administered broad-spectrum antiviral designed to mimic host-side features required by viruses for infection and is also being evaluated in a phase II clinical trial for Mpox in the DRC.
