Along with John Brown who have served for so long that we at a distance sometimes think they will always be around-at least to the event of which Enoch was a type and which the apostle Paul thought was so near that it was better not to marry "in the present time"

So we carry on learning through trials and tribulations which shape our character (see Ro 5:3-5) until we become fully mature in Christ (Eph 4:11-15) and receive some of the promises now in this time (e.g., Mt 7:7-11; Mark 10:29; Hebrews 11) while others await our eternal destiny.
Creating a perfect tension for our faith to grow in which often seems like a small subset of Gideons 300 or at the most 7000 reserved in the whole land-especially when you are a pioneer as John Brown was in the prophesied Mt 24:37 Noah's generation prior to the coming prophesied deliverance/2nd exodus (first heard from my pastor 2-18-88) in progress to be with his people-habitation- before he comes for his people (Eph 5:25; Visions of Heaven, Wendy Alec; The Glory of God Revealed, Rigney; Elijahlist.com; Julie Green Ministries et al. Yes, the incipient church did enjoy a time of peace and restoration (Acts 9:31 after severe persecution).
