$BURU News: NUBURU is accelerating its joint venture with Maddox Defense, funding the prototype development phase. The goals are a short-term demo with the U.S. government and a debut in the counter-drone market.

The operation moves into the prototype production phase, supporting the manufacturing of drones and pods for critical missions, with a guarantee of initial capital and a financing structure based on the achievement of predetermined objectives.

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

NUBURU is accelerating its joint venture with Maddox Defense, funding the prototype development phase; the goals are a short-term demo with the U.S. government and a debut in the counter-drone market, which is worth over $20 billion.

NUBURU, Inc. (NYSE American: BURU – the “Company”), a dual-use military and security platform focused on non-kinetic and directed energy technologies, electronic warfare, and software-orchestrated defense systems, today announced further acceleration of its joint venture with Maddox Defense Incorporated (“Maddox Defense”); the program now enters the production phase of its first Mobile Additive Manufacturing Container (MAMC) platform, designed to produce drones, mission-critical pods, and related defense components.

This important achievement marks the transition from infrastructure activation and system integration to a prototype development phase already supported by funding, with initial capital secured and structured financing to support the prototype's development and imminent commissioning.

The update builds on the Company's previously announced Phase I activation and ongoing operational activities in the United States, particularly in Houston, Texas.

The funded execution phase is moving towards the completion of the prototype

The Maddox JV program has secured initial capital to support execution and entered the next phase of operations, including procurement, systems integration, and container readiness.

Already funded for the current execution phase, the program has guaranteed initial capital and structured financing to support the transition to prototype completion, which will enable the following phases:

Assembly and validation of additive manufacturing systems;
Integration of energy, environmental and digital production infrastructures;
Completion of the containerized production unit;
Complete operational testing and deployment readiness.
The platform is designed to support the modular production of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), payload pods, and mission-critical components, enabling flexible deployment across a variety of military and security use cases.

The program remains targeted for an implementation timeline of approximately 6-9 months, allowing the Company to prepare for short-term demos and engagement with U.S. Army stakeholders.

Ready for initial US government engagement and commitments

Once refined, the MAMC prototype will be used for demos and evaluations by U.S. government agencies and allied partners to support procurement processes in a variety of military applications, such as:

Anti-UAS systems (C-UAS);
Electronic warfare and operations in the electromagnetic spectrum;
Tactical remotely piloted systems and local manufacturing.
According to the Company, successful implementation of the prototype will facilitate initial discussions on commitments and potential orders in the early stages, accelerating the transition from the development to commercialization phase.

Exposure to vast and growing opportunities in the U.S. military sector

Based on publicly available market data, industry research, and recent U.S. military budget allocations, the Company believes the potential market opportunity reflects the convergence of multiple high-growth segments, such as counter-UAS systems, electronic warfare, tactical unmanned platforms, and deployable manufacturing capabilities.

In this context:

The Total Addressable Market (TAM) is estimated at over $20 billion, based on the broader U.S. market for counter-drone, electronic warfare, and related military systems, supported by growing federal defense spending priorities;
The Serviceable Available Market (SAM) is estimated at $8 to $10 billion and includes segments directly related to deployable C-UAS systems, electronic warfare solutions, and modular, field-deployable production platforms;
The Serviceable Obtainable Market (SOM) is estimated to be $50 million to $150 million in the short to medium term, based on currently identified development opportunities, target program categories, and initial focus on US market debut.
This market expansion is driven by structural defense priorities, including the proliferation of low-cost drone threats, increased emphasis on spectrum dominance and electronic warfare, and the strategic shift toward distributed, resilient, and domestically rooted manufacturing capabilities.

The advantages of an integrated platform

Through its Maddox JV joint venture, Nuburu Defense LLC promotes an integrated approach that combines:

Direct energy systems (Lyocon Srl);
Electronic Warfare Capability (Tekne SpA)
Mobile and distributed manufacturing (MAMC platform)
Thanks to this positioning, the Company is able to respond to both immediate military operational needs and long-term structural priorities in the production and use of defense systems.

Management's comments

Dario Barisoni, co-CEO of NUBURU and CEO of Nuburu Defense LLC , emphasized:

"We are moving decisively into the production phase; with initial funding secured and ongoing execution, we aim to deliver a working prototype that can be directly presented to US government representatives in the near future and support initial procurement discussions."

Elgin Tracy, of Maddox Defense , added:

"We are fully committed to executing this program and achieving its mission. With the securing of initial capital and ongoing procurement efforts, we are moving toward a deployable solution aligned with U.S. military requirements. We look forward to preparing the platform for a successful demo and collaboration with government and allied parties toward the end of the project."

Anthony Sinnott, vice president of Nuburu Defense LLC for the United States , said:

This program reflects a disciplined, execution-driven approach to entering the U.S. military market. The program structure, which combines guaranteed initial capital with milestone-based funding, supports efficient execution while maintaining the flexibility necessary for prototype completion and government engagement. We aim to translate these advances into concrete demonstration opportunities and the development of a scalable pipeline for mission-critical drone and payload applications.

A strategic positioning for scalable US defense growth

The Company believes that the transition to prototype production and demo soon will lead to the following results:

Greater visibility towards the awarding of the initial contract;
Greater credibility within the U.S. military procurement ecosystems;
Support the development of a scalable, US-based industrial and military platform.
This achievement represents a key step in NUBURU’s strategy to establish a long-term, execution-driven presence in the U.S. military and security market.
