"Industry Characterization and Screening of Long
Acting Leronlimab via Immunological Assays."
9/2026 end date (grant ?)
-The first goal of this research proposal is to assess the functional properties of 28 leronlimab variants synthetically engineered and optimized by Absci.
-The second goal is to determine and report the CCR5 haplotypes of human study
Evolving Novel AAV Vectors for Gene
Therapy to Cure HIV.
end date 6/2026 (grant)
-The development of curative approaches for HIV infection is now recognized as both a necessary and attainable goal.
- Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation resulting in an immune system deficient in a protein called CCR5 has been shown to functionally cure HIV infection in two separate patients, but such an approach is not scalable to the general population.
-We propose here to develop novel viral AAV vectors targeted to immune system cells to support delivery of therapeutics such as HIV-targeted CRISPR-Cas9, chimeric antigen receptors, broadly neutralizing antibodies, or CCR5-blocking antibodies to mimic a CCR5-deficient immune system.
