Quote:But Exelixis just completed a successful Phase III trial in that indication, combining their next gen tyrosine kinase inhibitor zanzalintinib with Tecentric,
Tyrosine kinase inhibitors work by inhibiting tumor growth and angiogenesis by decreasing the tumor's energy conversion ability. That would also increase tumor cell death a bit. The problem with that is it's also body-wide which can lead to lower white blood cell counts leading to immunosuppression. So it can cause moderate problems for the tumor but can also lead to the body's own immune system not attacking the tumor. Far from an ideal situation. Also of course side effects. Since leronlimab also inhibits tumor growth and angiogenesis a combination with those drugs would not be warranted and our drug supercharges tumor killing immune cells.
