" He made it to the other side of Stage 4 colorectal cancer. How?"

My first thought was City Of Hope protocol. Although we are not involved with this case.
..."Tumors had spread from his colon to his lungs and liver, an essential organ that clears our bodies of toxins and ensures healthy functioning"...
"A treatment once considered niche made the difference: Felshman received a hepatic artery infusion (HAI) pump. This involved a device implanted beneath Felshman's abdominal skin that continuously infused high-dose chemotherapy directly into the liver, achieving far higher concentrations of the drug where it’s needed most.
In most cases like Felshman's, patients are given chemotherapy and a limited time to live, according to Felshman's doctor, Dr. Nicholas Hornstein, medical oncologist at Northwell Health's Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. But 10% to 15% of colorectal patients can get HAI treatment if they're offered the option at the right time, Hornstein says.
"Metastatic colon cancer is a disease we don't have enough treatments for ... We've learned over the last decade or so if we find a way to clear them of their disease, we can (help) about 1/3 that would have been terminal," Hornstein says. "We're not going to be able to save everyone. But if we never try we never will."
