α-synuclein oligomers damaging the nerve cell membrane would increase intracellular calcium (CA2+) this additional burden on top of the intracellular CA2+ due to CCR5 would enhance mitochondrial destruction leading to nerve cell death. Leronlimab decreases intracellular CA2+.
