The TON story is as compelling as it gets...
The company/method that can move money the easiest, wins.
It's that simple.
The world has come a long way
Add to it what Manny highlights is many countries currency gets diluted more than the worst OTC stocks, so why not hold something else?
But don't underestimate the cost and hassle of moving money. Many families just get buy by one person working in a foreign company and sending money home.
Oh and 1B million automatic distribution which no one else has
The current thinking is there will be multiple crypto coins.
