I'm not one of the scientific guys but my guess would be that we haven't proven that we work with ICI yet and our current trial is with the SOC for 3rd line treatment (TAS-102 + Bevacizumab). I would think you want to both show that LL with SOC can improve over just the SOC and show that we also increase PD-L1 so that on the Phase 3 study you can add an ICI. If you add an ICI at this point to the phase 2 then there could be some ambiguity as to whether it was LL or the ICI that actually showed the improvement. That's the tactic being taken on StockTwits by Mazzy saying that the mTNBC results are due to the ICI and not LL. I believe this approach will prove that it is LL doing the heavy lifting before adding the ICI.
