He claimed that leronlimab blocked HIV but did not block CCL ligands so it didn't affect the immune system. That claim was posted on the Cytodyn website since at least 2019. After reading a long monograph on how maraviroc changed the shape of the CCR5 receptor and another one on the structure of the CCR5 receptor itself I realized it was incorrect. With the N terminus being deep in the receptor and all ligands binding the N terminus it became obvious that leronlimab blocked ligands very effectively. After that Cytodyn removed Madden's claim from the website. He may have believed leronlimab wasn't blocking ligands because of the lack of negative effects.
