I have a daughter suffering from advanced MS. She is unable to care for herself and is confined to a hospital bed. I spoke with leadership at Cytodyn who assured me they would make the drug available, but I needed to get the treating doc on-board. We experienced this same reaction when I laterally begged my daughter's physician to ask for 'Right to Try.' He responded with the expected, "I am not going to recommend a drug that has not been approved by the FDA."
I then asked him if he had a daughter in a similar condition, if he would request leronlimab. I also reminded him that we both knew how this was going to end up if we stay on the current path. He denied that he would request an investigational drug.
My only thought is that these docs may fear some litigation if things go wrong with the drug.
BTW, she is currently in an ICU.
