What Is RecoveryRx®?
RecoveryRx® is a class II, FDA‑cleared non‑thermal Pulsed Shortwave Therapy (PSWT) device developed by BioElectronics Corporation. It delivers pulsed radio‑frequency electromagnetic energy to manage postoperative pain and edema in a drug‑free, non‑invasive way.
How It Works
The device emits harmless electromagnetic pulses 1,000 times per second, stimulating A‑alpha and A‑beta nerve fibers. This increases afferent nerve activity and raises pain thresholds through habituation—helping the central nervous system reduce pain sensitivity and prevent central sensitization.
It’s worn over the area of pain (commonly over bandages) and can be used up to 24 hours a day for up to 720 hours before disposal.
Clinical Evidence & Applications
Multiple randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials have shown statistically significant reductions in postoperative pain among patients undergoing breast augmentation and cesarean sections. Applications extend beyond postoperative care to include plastic surgery, dental recovery, and chronic wound healing.
FDA approval enables access to millions of potential users suffering from postoperative pain and chronic wounds.
In Summary
RecoveryRx® offers a compelling, non-pharmacological option for managing postoperative and chronic pain. It has solid clinical backing, regulatory endorsements across borders, and real-world testimonials from both healthcare providers and patients. Whether you’re a patient seeking alternative pain relief or a clinician exploring adjunctive therapies, RecoveryRx is a noteworthy innovation in the field of recovery and rehabilitation.
