W0RKING IN A dirty, and absolutely terrible old of
Post# of 127034
Nope, I was diagnosed with COVID before I even walked into the Urgent Care. Walked up to the counter, the dork behind the desk says. "Ok, we'll check you in and we have a COVID, plus seven other viral infection test. It is $260." I said. "Uh, no. I don't have COVID. I have a sinus infection and would like to see a doctor."
I get walked in by a nurse. She sits me down and takes my blood pressure and gives me a thermometer. 102.5. "Oh. You've got something all right. We've been seeing a lot of COVID. We have a test that does COVID, Rhinovirus, and different flus. I can get that test ready."
No, I don't want a COVID test. I don't have the flu, or COVID. I have an sinus infection and would like to see a doctor about getting prescribed some antibiotics.
"OK. Just thought I'd let you know. You can wait in here.", she says.
Doctor walks in. Can you put a mask on. We need to protect our staff. You have a fever, and we've been seeing a lot of COVID. I see you didn't want the COVID test. So we have to assume you have COVID. It has been presenting like bad seasonal allergies.
I say, "Doctor, I do not have COVID. I have all the symptoms of a sinus infection, and perhaps middle ear infection. I'd like antibiotics. I have a history of this kind of thing and suffer from bad sinus problems."
He looks in my ear and my throat. Says. "Well I do see fluid buildup and there is a lot of post nasal drip. However, those can be caused by COVID. If you take the test and it is negative, then we can maybe look at other causes. Even though it is probably viral and you'll just need to wait it out."
Now I'm angry. I looked right at his stupid face and said, "Not everything is COVID. In fact almost nothing is. Your test is a joke that has been verified by third party testing to be up to 100% inaccurate. In fact the more things you test for, the more the chance of getting it wrong. Even the best test has an accuracy rating in the upper 80s and that is if you are almost 100% certain the person has what you are testing for. That means if you test 100 people you give the wrong answer to at least ten of them. I'd appreciate you listening to my symptoms and diagnosing me based on that."
He says, "I don't appreciate your tone. If you take the COVID test then we can rule that out. They also find new symptoms of COVID all the time."
I then clapped in his face and said, "Bravo, you are a ****in idiot and should not be practicing medicine." And stormed out. I should have kicked his *** and left a bloody Covidian pulp in the room. But I really didn't feel good.
I had a friend at the county health center give me two free COVID tests. Both negative. Brought them with me to see other doctors.
It took me another six days to finally find a doctor who would prescribe me antibiotics. By which time my infection progressed to pneumonia. Requiring steroids, antibiotics, and nebulizer breathing treatments.
Screw the Covidians. They all deserve death. Even if family.
