IMO, and anyone correct me if I am wrong, but you have to keep in mind that an approved drug is still just a company product. FDA approval means they can market it for sale, doesn't mean they have to. The company can simply stop making it, there is no mandate that if a drug is approved, they must always have inventory on hand if someone requests it.
