They may have chosen mss based on the mTNBC trial results regarding PD-L1. MSI tumors are more often hot because the mismatch repair of DNA will signal to the immune system to destroy tumor cells. MSS on the other is more likely to be cold. It's also positive that there a very large number of cases of MSS compared to MSI.
