2 Mining Claims-Lone Pine CA River Placer & Lode Mine 40 Acres-Gold! Inyo County
DOUBLE Mines - 20 Acre River Placer & 20.66 Lode Claim
--
“TWO CLAIMS for the price of one – this auction is for a Placer Mining Claim on the river, a proven  gold producer, and an overlapping Lode Claim that covers the vein discovered in the hills next to the river. Double protection for your money. Both claims are individual – you can sell one and keep the other or hold both like I would advise. Easy access by paved road to within about 20 yards of the river, and access to the base of the Lode Claim by 2-wheel drive dirt road. During the 1870's Lone Pine was an active supply town, furnishing goods and services to the surrounding mining communities of Kearsarge, Cerro Gordo, Keeler, Swansea, and Darwin. The large mine at Cerro Gordo, 9,000 feet high in the Inyo Mountains, was one of the greatest silver mines in California. Silver, lead and zinc were carried in ore buckets on a strong cable to the town of Keeler. From Keeler, the ore was transported 4 miles northwest to Swansea's smelter oven.”

Lode Mining Claim Ivanpah CA California Gold Silver Mine Shafts Prospect Ore
MULTIPLE mines in this historic area, Good Road Access

Current bid:US $405.00

This is an intriguing mine - it’s been partially backfilled by the BLM most likely at some point, so it would need a little work to open all of the underground workings and see what is there. You can definitely tell that it is a lot more extensive underground that what you can see at the surface because of the amount of tailings present at the base of the shaft. The cuts in this area seem to head down for about 30 to 50 feet, then run north into the fault area, so no telling how many levels or what length they may be. It’s tucked away unless you know it is there, and probably hasn’t seen any humans in decades, so there could be some interesting finds here. Real easy access - exit Halloran Summit Rd from the 15 Freeway and head south for a short distance. The road is in excellent shape - a 2-wheel drive car can access it. There’s room for parking/camping close by, and more than enough tailings onsite to keep anyone interested in reworking the tailings busy for a LONG time!”
