Actipatch tip of the day

AM Radio Actipatch Test

The green on light tells you that the Actipatch is functioning but if you are in the habit of double checking things, as I am, there is an easy way to test your Actipatch using an AM radio.

Tune your AM radio in-between stations so that all you hear is the annoying white noise. Turn up the volume to a decent level. Turn the Actipatch on and pass the Actipatch antenna over the radio an inch or so above it. When the Actipatch gets near the radio's antenna you will hear a high pitched steady sound, the closer you get to the radio antenna the louder the sound. This is the Actipatch signal being picked up by your radio and confirms your ActiPatch is working.

Another use for this test is confirming that an Actipatch that has stopped showing a green light is actually dead. It does not happen often but out of the dozens of units that I have used a couple have had a failure of the green light and are still putting out a signal without showing the green light.

If your AM radio has digital tuning you won't get much white noise but tuning to a frequency with no radio station and cranking the volume will still broadcast the Actipatch high pitched signal.

Bonus Tip, you can usually extend the useful life of a battery by giving it a rest period. Instead of buying one Actipatch and running it for 30 days, purchase 2 or 3 and rotate their use giving a 8-12 hour rest period in-between uses.

I use Actipatch regularly for lower back pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, and any other issues that show up during an active day. It allows my 70 year old body to stay mobile by relieving pain.
