they'd have reasons to do it. 1) To make money. They like to make money to fund their philanthropic activities. Clearly they know the value of Leronlimab, now that Max Lataillade is with both groups. They could offer us, say, $250 million in return for shares.... and 2) maybe a seat on the Board. If they were investing so heavily in CYDY, they'd want to help guide its direction. They would want to make sure, for example, that the company pursues an HIV cure and works on Alzheimer's, not neglecting these indications for cancer or Long Covid, say. And also 3) they'd want to make sure that competent people are directing activities they are helping to fund.
All this is just thinking out loud.
