I sold ~900 shares in late Dec for a tax writeoff

I sold ~900 shares in late Dec for a tax writeoff and have to wait until the end of this month before I can make any purchases to avoid a wash sale. Transfered $'s (much more than I sold) to my eTrade account a couple of weeks ago and was hoping to buy back what I sold and a signicant amount more than the 900 shares at around the same price. And of course we're now 100% higher.
