DoorDash Includes Hemp-Sourced THC Drinks on the L
Post# of 136
Following its legalization with the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, the cultivation and production of hemp and its products has greatly increased in the U.S. Under federal law, hemp products should contain no more than 0.3% THC on a dry weight basis and must be sold in accordance with age limits mandated by states.
Last week, DoorDash announced that it’d be offering hemp-derived CBD and THC products for delivery in a number of states. This gives consumers access to more products to enjoy at their leisure, along with other snacks and meals.
Director-GM of Alcohol and Emerging Categories, Jacob Morello, stated that they were excited to broaden access to the hemp-derived CBD and THC products customers wanted, as the demand for these products grew. Morello added that the company could now help consumers of legal age to find new products that they could safely enjoy as preferences continued to evolve.
Consumers in markets where products derived from hemp are available can access them via a new tab in the delivery app. Under this tab, consumers can access various hemp-derived CBD and THC products, including gummies, topicals, and drinks.
DoorDash has implemented several safeguards to make sure that consumers purchasing these products are of legal age, including the electronic verification of IDs.
The company’s move comes as more and more individuals look for new and alternative products to try. A recently conducted survey determined that over 70% of individuals looking to unwind this year are thinking about including CBD/THC products into their regimens. Currently, the most popular products derived from hemp on DoorDash include honey sticks, chocolates, mints, gummies and beverages like mocktails and seltzers.
To celebrate this launch, the online food delivery company is collaborating with Cann to offer consumers $2 off some purchases. Cann is a major hemp-infused social beverage firm focused on expanding access to cannabinoids through trusted, high-quality beverages.
It should be noted that this offer only applies to one multipack of eligible Cann products at eligible locations and is valid until 31st of January 2025. The discount doesn’t apply to gratuity, taxes and fees. For further terms and conditions, visit this site.
Consumers should also keep in mind that the FDA hasn’t assessed the safety and effectiveness of these products. Additionally, these products aren’t intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any illness. Consumers who are nursing or pregnant are advised to avoid using these products, which should also be kept out of reach of children.
When delivery companies like DoorDash start offering their services to makers of drinks containing hemp-sourced THC, it suggests that the market is growing for companies like Software Effective Solutions Corp. (d/b/a MedCana) (OTC: SFWJ) that focus on manufacturing products from hemp.
