How would a Tiktok ban work in the US? How will

How will users be affected?
TikTok’s 170 million users in the US will probably still be able to use the app because it is already downloaded on their phones, experts say. But over time, without software and security updates, the app will become unusable.
Some users have begun posting TikTok videos instructing others on how to use virtual private networks (VPNs), which mask an internet user’s location, as a way to circumvent the possible ban.
Content creators who have built businesses from their TikTok followings are preparing for the worst. Nadya Okamoto, who has 4.1 million followers and founded August, a menstrual products brand, said TikTok helped her business grow organically through viral videos. A TikTok ban could force her and other small businesses to spend more on marketing and raise their costs.
“It’s very stressful,” she said. “If TikTok goes away, we’ll be OK, but it is going to be a hard hit.”

This is going to get interesting. A ton of users will continue to use the app. TT makes updates on new functionality, etc a few times a month, but the app is fine without it. Maybe it coasts for a year or two or even goes nuts as some kind of exclusive 170M club with a finite user base. The issue is if there is an iOS or Android update that will break something, TT doesn't have a way to test and deploy a patch before the OS upgrade. Example, iOS 18.2.1 just came out. Those types are an issue as they are a minor release. The dot release probably not too big of an issue like when 18.3 comes out. Major release will be a problem like iOS 19. Also TT will miss the AI explosion so other platforms now leverage this opportunity and TT will be in as frozen why they continue to add more capabilities. If the ban goes through, Meta may be a nice investment but do your own DD.
What is likely to happen is business will need help on other platforms like Meta to increase their followers from few to many, marketing, etc. Could be a boon to businesses that are in that business that have service to help people. I think I know such a company.
Tiktok has more than 5 million business that use the platform just in the US that may look at alternatives. Ironic if this turned into an unexpected opportunity for explosive growth.
Would love to get Verb's take on this. I'm sure they know the pros/cons of TT and the alternative platforms. Suspect we'll get an update shortly as this plays out next week.
