AN OBITUARY THAT JUST CAME TO OUR ATTENTION
From time to time an obituary is overlooked because no one alerts us of the passing of an alumnus. This is an especially tragic obituary and as we close out 2024, let us take pause and remember a super star alumnus of JBHS who passed away far too young.
Rebecca MacLean Audet, JBHS Class of 2001, passed away in 2013 after being diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer. Rebecca grew up in Redding. While at JBHS she won several local and state championships in Track and Field. After Barlow,Rebecca attended Barnard College of Columbia University where she met, Ryan Audet, the love of her life. They married and both worked for the Subway Corporation, a food vending company that some of you may frequent.
Eventually Subway promoted Rebecca to Director of Worldwide Training thus moving her and Ryan back to CT. She was eventually slated to become Director of Operations.
The entire time Rebecca was rising through the ranks of Subway, she was battling an aggressive form of breast cancer that she was diagnosed with at age twenty-six. Unfortunately Rebecca lost that battle at a mere twenty-nine years of age.
Rebecca is survived by the love of her life, Ryan Audet; her then four year old daughter, Anya Katherine Audet; and her golden retriever, Boomer. In addition Rebecca is survived by her older sister, Katherine MacLean; her younger brother, Edward Cadden-MacLean; her in-laws, Thomas and Meredith Audet; and many other family members and friends. On behalf of the JBHSAA, we extend our deepest sympathy to Rebecca's husband and daughter and family and to all who knew and loved this courageous woman.

I have a relative that works in a care facility, guarantee you it's not all 90 year olds.
My high school reunion committee keeps a website for our graduation class. There's a memorial page...very few deaths since graduation until 2 years ago...18 have died in the last 2 years...I don't know the causes, but that's a disturbing/suspicious rash of deaths.

Oh. And if the doctor is under 40 you better be very careful.
They are producing and allowing some to practice in the US that can't read over an 8th grade level. Zero exaggeration.

"what's ahead for healthcare?"
hopefully 30 million fewer illegals clogging up the emergency rooms.
