If you're a foundation trying to "remain anonymous

I never put much stock into the idea that a big pharma company would not want to partner until after NP was done with his trial. (I could be wrong) Because I think big pharma is very comfortable working alongside ambulance chasers, bullshit lawsuits, and fda hand slaps. A foundation on the other hand, has a different reputation to uphold. I do think it's plausible they'd want to wait.
You'd also have to wonder whether or not the AI company that remains to be anonymous is a result of this background relationship with the Gates Foundation. They are focused on AI, after all. And then our Alzheimer's pilot study is going to be run and funded by a foundation that wants to remain anonymous for some undetermined amount of time.
Well, maybe that time is up.
