I had assumed very much erroneously it meant that he was leaving Cytodyn for the Gates Foundation, especially since as of a day or two ago he had never updated his LinkedIn profile to show that he was working with us.
I am of course delighted to hear he is handling both jobs, and unlike some phantasmagorical notions people have had by following bread crumbs, this connection is real and obvious. The Gates Foundation is in the business of giving money away to further good medical endeavors, and we know how to say "Thank you very much, Bill. And Max."
