Rooftop solar in Australia has reached new heights hitting 4 million installations across the country.
With Australians installing about 300,000 rooftop systems a year, 1 in 3 Aussie homes now have rooftop solar.
Solar uptake has been driven by the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) which cuts upfront costs by about 30%. The average rooftop system saves a household more than $1,500 a year on energy bills.
Rooftop solar also benefits the broader energy system by reducing wholesale prices and demand for more expensive sources of energy during the day.
