Facts are many, the truth is one, and usually travels through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
The one "truth" with Mr. Dalton is not one thing has "materialized," will anything happen, no-one knows. The odds are very slim at this point, "self-evident."
Mr. Dalton is like the bird sitting on the limb, the bird isn't afraid of falling if it brakes, it depends on his "wings"
Mr. Dalton isn't afraid of failing, he depends on the speculation to keep everyone happy.
