THE LIE: Trump never capped the cost of insulin at $35 a month for Americans.

THE TRUTH: This was one of the Trump administration’s policies.

This is embarrassing.

Trump literally did this before leaving office and KamalaHQ apparently doesn’t know that.

Here are the facts:

On March 11, 2020, the “Part D Senior Savings Model” was announced due to Trump’s leadership.

Part D enhanced alternative plans giving a lower out-of-pocket cost.

This allowed for beneficiaries to volunteer for a low-cost-sharing $35 a-month supply for insulin.

This saved beneficiaries 66% of their insulin.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services administrator Seema Verma is quoted in saying, “President Trump has forged partnerships with pharmaceutical manufacturers and plans to deliver lower priced insulin to our nation’s seniors.”

Not only has the Kamala/Joe admin tried to take credit for this, but they neglected to recognize that this policy was Donald Trump’s from the get-go.

Here’s what the Trump White House reports before Kamala even took office:

LOWERING COST OF INSULIN FOR SENIORS: President Donald J. Trump and his Administration are lowering out-of-pocket insulin costs for Medicare’s seniors.

- Under President Trump’s leadership, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is announcing that many Medicare Part D plans and Medicare Advantage plans have applied to offer lower out-of-pocket insulin costs to seniors for the 2021 plan year.

-Across the Nation, participating enhanced Part D plans will provide many seniors with Medicare access to a broad set of insulins at a maximum $35 copay for a month’s supply of each type of insulin.

-In 2018, Medicare Part D also started covering newer insulin delivery devices, including both mechanical and electronic insulin pumps that are not covered under Part B.

- Lowering out-of-pocket insulin costs will provide the many Medicare beneficiaries who rely on one or more common forms of insulin with plan options that will deliver critical relief.
