It's the center for decision-making...Concussions are basically your brain colliding with the inside of your exoskelton/skull.
Imagine hitting the windshield in an accident...your head hits the windshield...so did your brain. Putting on pads...just cushions the impact of your body hitting someone else...your brain is NOT wearing pads.
I have played fraternity hockey...have a brown belt in judo...been in two major accidents...one took me out for 1 1/2 years...hit in a crosswalk...and two plus years in amateur boxing...and have the nose to prove it.
