Inflammation is caused by the immune system's response to injury, disease or just a dysregulated immune system. Many of the cytokines involved are controlled by CCR5 and downregulated by leronlimab. CCR5 is a key underlying controller of inflammation so leronlimab would downregulate inflammation regardless of cause. What is important is that in severe cases it needs to be used early enough before unrecoverable damage is done.
