The original AR-15 was designed for war but really if you wish to have a perfect AK-47 made by Kalashnikov specks here in the USA that production was produced in 2020. Now all the AK-47's made in the old days were hand fitted/filed by many of the female workers. This still produced various problems simply because every single one was made a bit different.
Now you can buy one of these KR-103 to start with and have a perfect firearm and the newer KR-104 which are chambered differently. I know many raved at the Russian AK-47 and there was one other countries copy that was in high demand but don't recall it unless it was the Chinese copy of that rifle.

I spent 4 weeks fitting an aftermarket barrel for one of my pistols. The earlier generation stock barrels on a Glock would not hold up to lead so if you wanted to shot with lead it required buying an aftermarket.
