Dr. Claus Wagner-Bartak was instrumental in the development of Hollund's TigerLynk remote controlled articulated arm intended for use in underwater logging. Who is Dr. Claus Wagner-Bartak?
Dr. Claus Wagner-Bartak Ph. D., Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (magna cum laude), MBA in Engineering Management and International Business, Professional Engineer (Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario # 48462014). Dr. Wagner-Bartak is an accomplished and internationally recognized multidisciplinary engineer, scientist and business executive. He pioneered and coordinated several innovative megaprojects, including the development of NASA's robotic space arm (CanadArm) used on the U.S. Space Shuttle. Dr. Claus Wagner-Bartak also coordinated the development of a more powerful version of the CanadArm, called the TigerLynk, for use as Hollund Industrial Marine's remote controlled robotic underwater logging system.

People close to Hollund Industrial Marine (the company) indicated that talks concerning the exclusive license for the TigerLynk technology were extended due to positive discussions around Hollund having the right to also manage concessions outside of timber harvesting. Given the capabilities of the underwater robotic system, the technology also has the capacity to dredge underwater, as an example. This affords Hollund the ability to secure concessions -- for example -- from gold mining companies requiring underwater dredging services to extract gold from the sea floor.

It might be important for investors to understand the above in a much larger context, and that context is the multiple uses of the TigerLynk. Dr. Claus Wagner-Bartak is currently the managing director of Global Mineral Resources (GMR). GMR is a mining company, and one use for the TigerLynk is dredging and mining.

So the question one might ask is, in the above excerpt from a Hollund press release, who were they talking about when they stated "people close to Hollund Industrial Marine indicated that talks concerning the exclusive license [for the TigerLynk] .... were extended due to positive discussions around Hollund having the right to also manage concessions outside of timber harvesting." Does the name Claus Wagner-Bartak ring any bells?
It appears that the ability to manage concessions outside of timber harvesting was an important point that had to be resolved. And, without this addition, Hollund would not have been granted the exclusive license for the TigerLynk technology.
Thus, while the logging of underwater timber is Hollund's current focus and a very lucrative at that, much more may soon follow.
