Agree, it would be great for the US. However, the reality is the US must develop US based supply chains (raw material) to compete. Simply manufacturing product in the US, where world wide material is controlled by China, doesn’t bypass tariffs etc isn’t ideal.
America needs to start from the ground up to be a significant player in solar. It starts with a US designed product. It starts with the US developing American made raw material chains. It doesn’t start with the US manufacturing products for Chinese companies to bypass tariffs etc. This could actually hinder US objectives of being a dominant player in this market.
My opinions.
Made in America: "Manufacturing solar panels and battery storage in the USA boosts job creation, strengthens energy security, and fuels economic growth. It also accelerates innovation and helps build a greener, more sustainable future.
