Novavax is MORE effective than the mRNA vaccines, last longer (the initial clinical trial found protection lasted 18 months when they stopped measuring it), and has far fewer side effects than the mRNA vaccines. Novavax is a traditional-style vaccine.
Naturally, the FDA is giving the first mover advantage to Moderna and Pfizer again, because Novavax applied for authorization at the beginning of June and the FDA just hasn’t managed to get around to reviewing it yet.
I’m waiting for Novavax. I had only a very mild pain in my arm after getting it last October. When I had the mRNAs, I was sick for 3 days.
Thanks once again to the FDA for putting their thumb on the scale to help Pfizer and Moderna, by delaying Novavax unnecessarily.
