However, the fact remains that there is something wrong that is not enabling me to sell any of this stock through this particular bank(Bank of Montreal).
When I asked why the trade was rejected, they said the company was not treating shareholders fairly and quoted this rule below.
SEC Rule 15c2-11
It's not a big deal financially, because it's only 73,000 shares, but as long as I keep the account open I am paying a $25 service charge every three months.
RMHB is the only stock I have in there as I sold all the others. So, for six years it's been sitting there and I have paid $600 in service fees.
Like most of us, I kept thinking that RMHB would do something to move the stock price or perhaps go on a different exchange, but that hasn't happened, so I just want to close this specific brokerage account and go with the other one I have with a different bank.
It just burns me up and is a matter of principle that they keep charging this service fee quarter after quarter.
My only other option is to just give the stock to the bank and then close the account.
