as a wine guy---that is my thought too--the Histamines. Try lighter style reds--hence the St Laurent. Things like Gamay, Pinot Noir, lighter style Grenache and and grapes of the such. Fortunately the wine world is getting back to producing quality versions of these grapes. Find a good, local wine shop( not safeway & alberstons) and ask their wine person to help you find some. The world of red wine will be opened up some great wines for you
Definately not sulfites/sulfates. Our food system is ripe with these and you would have so many more reactions if it was.
