Trumpworld Has Convinced Itself That Joe Biden Will Be on Drugs at the Debate
It’s not just the usual suspects cranking out the tune on the house organ.

Nothing has summed up the intellectual Superfund site that is the MAGA hive mind quite as well as its current ensemble recitation of the absurd talking point that the president is likely to be “jacked up” on something when he debates the former president* on Thursday.
It all started, of course, with the State of the Union address, in which the president was animated and genuinely funny. The cult snapped to attention immediately, intimating that the president had to have been juiced on something to deliver such a grand performance. Now, as their candidate wanders the landscape talking about electric tanks that don’t exist, and boat batteries and sharks, and indulging his fixation on bathroom fixtures, they’re preemptively charging that the president will be wired to the teeth just in case their candidate starts babbling incoherently about his many wounds.
And it’s not the usual suspects cranking out the tune on the house organ. I mean, Rep. Ronny Jackson, Captain Quack, was inevitable. But Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks of Iowa, whom I met years ago when I was following my good friend Joni Ernst around that state, and who seemed like a nice small-town lady, went on TV and stated, flatly, that the obviously infirm president will be stoned to the gills in Atlanta.
We anticipate for this first debate that he will be on something and the response of the press has been to cover it up....The videos we have seen of President Biden’s cognitive decline are not false. They are not manufactured. They are not deep fakes. The president has significant cognitive decline as we have all seen.
Then it was the turn of Rep. Eric Burlison (R-Missouri), who also went on Fox Business to speculate. (Note to viewers—if you really want to see MAGA in the wild, Fox Business is the Serengeti.) Burlison sounded very sure of himself.

Any patient with dementia, they can find some moments of clarity. They can find some moments throughout the day when they have energy. I don’t think Trump’s team should underestimate Biden’s team’s ability to, whether they’re going to jack him up on Mountain Dew or whatever it is. The State of the Union this year he had a lot of energy for an hour or so.
Rep. Greg Murphy (R-North Carolina) has chimed in. So has Sean Hannity. And, of course, El Caudillo del Mar-a-Lago was there with his usual touch of class. The president, he said, will probably get “a shot in the ass.” It must give a candidate great confidence to know that his followers are such a flock of dough-brained sheep that he can sell them anything. If he were as good at selling steaks and vodka, he might actually be as rich as he pretends to be.
