Is it possible to "forget" that you made an invest

Is it possible to "forget" that you made an investment in a company (let's say SSUR)? And, when someone points out that you had posted on a certain message board your cost basis in the company (with the actual post) . . . and, because you are the God of the board it is then removed without an answer . . . should we not begin to question?
