The issue for me, wasn’t whether it was a correct guess or not, but expressing unnecessary and unsolicited pessimism which can risk becoming self-fulfilling prophecy. It’s the old “gotta fill the gap” approach.

The next time there’s a call announced we’ll see more dumping then ever beforehand unless the PR specifically promises good news.
